Blue Ocean Strategy India (BOS India) is a research and advisory not-for-profit organization established in 2008 by a group of seasoned corporate leaders, expert industry practitioners and renowned academic faculty.
Our mission is to advance the research and practice of the concept of Blue Ocean Strategy in India through collaboration with the Indian Industries, Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Agencies, Government Departments and Non-Government Organizations.
Our focus is to stimulate the imagination of local businesses and energize the local Indian economy beyond the existing structural and cultural boundaries. The intended outcome is to help Indian government and institutions to transform themselves ahead of changing times and propel local enterprises to grow and scale overseas.
One of the immediate tasks is to leverage the economic synergies and complements between India and China. We believe that there are opportunities to harness the synergies between the market structures and economic strengths of India and China for global market dominance and leadership. However, as of today, these potentials are being harnessed only by global multinational companies like General Electric and etc. These MNCs have established presence in India and have made India their services back office either through out-sourcing or off-shoring, and have invested in China and made China their manufacturing center either through joint venture or direct operation. There are only very limited and select few of the companies from India (e.g. Infosys and TCS) or China (e.g. Huawei and ZTE) have actually taken the advantages of these potentials presented before them. Unfortunately, today India and China still see and treat each other as their competition while the rest of the world see India and China together as one synergistic and complementary platform for their global strategies and operations.
